Emergency Response Team
The Borax Emergency Response Team (ERT) is a volunteer, on-site fire department that specializes in all types of rescue. We are an all-risk team that is highly skilled and certified with the California State Fire Marshal in: Fire, Confined Space, Hazmat, Rope, Trench, and Vehicle Extrication. The team is also highly skilled in Emergency Medical and Triage. Many of our team members are both State and Nationally Certified, varying between First Responders and EMTs. We have partnered with the Victor Valley College- Fire Technology Program to continually grow our skills, expand our knowledge, obtain current State Certifications, and receive the most up-to-date, advanced training. Every year our team competes in the Elko Mine Rescue competition; at these competitions we compete against dozens of the best mine- rescue teams in the Western United States. Through our extensive training, and dedication- our Boron team has achieved many first-place wins. As the mine rescue team, it is our mission to protect the health and safety of our fellow brothers and sister in the event of a catastrophe. Our team is like a family and everyone is honored to work together. We encourage anyone that wants to join to contact any team member, and they can direct you on how to join. -Jacob Minnick
